Can I get a Stansted taxi with a baby seat, and is it free?
Yes — Airport Only provides free baby, infant, child and booster car seats on every Stansted Airport (STN) transfer, for newborns up to age 12. UK law exempts licensed taxis and private hire vehicles from the child-seat requirement, but we fit the correct, UK-approved seat anyway — installed by your DBS-checked driver, who meets you inside arrivals. Just request your seat when booking so the right one is ready.

Seats are rear-facing until at least 15 months under the i-Size (R129) standard. All seats meet UK safety standards (R129 i-Size or ECE R44).

The general rule
Children must normally use a child car seat until they are 12 years old or 135 cm tall, whichever comes first.
The taxi exemption
Licensed taxis and private hire vehicles are exempt. Without a seat, a child may travel only on a rear seat: ages 3+ wear an adult belt; under-3s unrestrained in the rear.
